Privacy

Mobility Humanities is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of all individuals involved in the publication process, including authors, reviewers, and research participants, in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

Personal Data Collection and Use

Personal information provided to Mobility Humanities, including names, affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID identifiers, is collected and processed solely for the purposes of manuscript submission, peer review, and publication. Such information will not be shared with third parties except where necessary for these purposes, including through submission and peer review platforms such as ScholarOne Manuscripts® and associated service providers. Personal data are processed on the basis of the journal’s legitimate interests in managing the publication process or, where required by applicable law, with the consent of the individual concerned.

Confidentiality of Submitted Manuscripts

All submitted manuscripts are treated as strictly confidential. The contents of submitted manuscripts will not be disclosed to anyone other than the authors, designated reviewers, (guest) editors, and editorial staff, except where required by applicable law, prior to the publication of the manuscript.

Reviewer Anonymity

In accordance with the journal’s double-blind peer review policy, the identities of reviewers are not disclosed to authors at any stage of the review process. Reviewer names and contact information will not be shared with third parties without the explicit written consent of the reviewer.

Research Participants

Authors are responsible for ensuring that the privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of research participants are protected in their submitted work, including through the appropriate use of anonymisation or pseudonymisation. For further information on ethical requirements regarding research participants, including informed consent and data protection measures, please refer to the journal’s Research Ethics policy.

Data Retention

Personal data collected in connection with the journal’s editorial and publication processes—including data submitted by authors, reviewers, and other contributors—is retained only for as long as is necessary for those purposes. Data held within the manuscript management system (ScholarOne Manuscripts®) is managed in accordance with the platform’s own privacy policy, which authors and reviewers are encouraged to review.

Data Subject Rights

Authors, reviewers, and other individuals whose personal data are held by the journal have the right to request access to, rectification of, erasure of, or restriction of the processing of their personal data. These rights are subject to applicable legal and editorial requirements and may be exercised by contacting the Mobility Humanities Editorial Office at the address provided below.
